Long HairAbout 99% of us don’t care about how and why they work. All we want to know is that they DO work-absolutely perfect and completely normal. However, I’m still going to go in-depth on how these guys perform their magic, for all the people out there that really love knowing why things work. Besides, it’s a bonus:) , You get to have a better understanding of what you’re feeding your hair with, and you get to impress others with your knowledge:)

Eggs To Grow Your Hair

Who could have thought that these yummy things performed miracles on your hair? Did you know that eggs contain lots of proteins, vitamins and essential fatty acids, which help to grow your hair and strengthen your hair follicles? You probably did, but for those of you that were unaware of this, this is a new discovery for you:).

Hair fibers are mostly made of proteins, so eggs are perfect for strengthening your hair by repairing the damaged parts. Vitamin H, which is also known as biotin, helps to keep your hair healthy. Another vitamin that also helps with hair growth is riboflavin, or vitamin B2. This vitamin is responsible for activating vitamins B3 and B6, which are also essential for the best hair growth results.

Again, eggs are just amazing. They contain omega 3 fatty acids, which promote the health of your hair and help to prevent hair loss. They also have iron, vitamins A & D, which are key to preventing hair loss. Now, we can’t be talking about growing your hair, if it just keeps falling off. Our main focus is to have your hair growing and maintaining that length. That won’t be possible if you just keep losing it, so let’s work with our eggs, shall we?:)

Onion juice

Onions To Grow Your Hair

Onions…these guys just love to bring tears to my eyes. They’re actually good for the eyes, but apart from using them while we cook, they are very beneficial to the hair. Since there are different kinds of onions, they are quite different in terms of their nutritional compositions. However, I shall provide you with the basic compositions and what they do for your hair.

Onion juice is rich in nutrients like vitamin A and folic acid, which help to maintain the growth of your hair by preventing hair loss. It contains vitamin C, and this is responsible for creating collagen, which is important for hair growth. One other job that vitamin C has is to absorb iron. Remember iron facilitates hair growth by preventing hair loss? I honestly feel like vitamin C is a champion. It’s so efficient by multi-tasking:)

Magnesium is one other essential nutrient for the hair, which is in onion juice. It is very important, because without it, you can kiss the access of other nutrients into your body goodbye. Magnesium has a cool job of letting other nutrients in, to perform their given tasks. This means that magnesium takes in other nutrients like calcium, which secretes hormones like androgens that help with the growth of your hair. Calcium also aids the secretion of biotin. Remember I mentioned biotin earlier on for eggs? 🙂

Now, onion juice has all these cool nutrients for the growth and survival of your hair, but do take note: even though these products are safe and have almost no side effects, you might want to test onion juice on a part of your skin, just to be absolutely sure you don’t react to it. I know…I know…you thought all of these were not supposed to have any side effects-I said so, right? Well, just know that the chances of having allergic reactions are slim, so the benefits to the side effects are in the ratio of 10:1:)

Castor oil

Castor Oil To Grow Your Hair

Castor oil is one other lovely product that performs its magic on your hair. it comes from the plant, Ricinus communis, which is found in India, Mediterranean Basin, and East Africa. Castor oil has omega 6 fatty acids, which awaken the growth process of your hair and help it to retain moisture.

Vitamin E is present in castor oil as well. It repairs those hair follicles that have been damaged, making the hair healthy and ready for the growth process. There are other vitamins and minerals that castor oil has, to make your hair as long and as healthy as you’d love it to be.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar To Grow Your Hair

Okay, I know that vinegar makes some people cringe a bit, just because of its annoyingly sour taste. Honestly, I totally understand that, because guess what? I hate the way it tastes too, even though it has its health benefits. It does amazing things to your hair-really, it does.

Apple cider vinegar makes your hair follicles strong, in order to support the growth of your hair. It does this by improving the blood circulation to the follicles. Circulation helps to transport nutrients to the hair follicles, and we want a ton of nutrients for maximum results, don’t we?:) The more circulation there is, the better. The growth of your hair depends on this:)

Now…we can’t be all about getting that hair nice and long if we have a dirty scalp. Luckily, apple cider vinegar gets rid of bacteria and fungi, that are responsible for causing dandruff and scalp infections. These contribute to hair loss, which is the OPPOSITE of what we want. So, a clean scalp free from dandruff and scalp problems, equals a healthy growing hair:)

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera To Grow Your Hair

This…is a truly amazing plant, I must admit. I’ll tell you why:) . Aloe vera helps to get rid of dandruff-remember it results in hair loss? Yeah-it takes care of this. It leaves your scalp clean, to promote a healthy growing hair. Aloe is just too good, because while it works wonders and helps your hair grow, it’s very gentle:)

Nutrients, nutrients, nutrients…aloe is very rich in these. It has folic acid, vitamins A, C, E, and vitamin B12. Do you notice that these are the same nutrients in onion juice?:). One other good thing- aloe aids in blood circulation, so that the nutrients get to the hair follicles in order for them to be strong and to promote growth. Again, do you notice that aloe also has the same functions as apple cider vinegar? It performs the duties of two different products-this is why it’s amazing:)

Yes, aloe is magnificent, but even though it’s gentle, some people might still be allergic to it. Remember it has the same functions as onion juice? Even though most people may not react to it, it’s still advisable to test it on a portion of your skin, before applying it fully. Don’t forget though, the advantages outweigh the possible side effects:)

Shea butter

Shea Butter To Grow Your Hair

The last but not the least…the ultimate shea butter. You want that hair long and full? Shea butter is the answer:). It’s the fat that is extracted from the seeds of the Karite tree fruit. It’s majorly found in East and West Africa. Raw and unrefined shea butter is rich in vitamins A and E, which strengthen your hair and assist with hair growth. As I mentioned earlier with eggs, vitamin A helps to prevent hair loss, therefore optimizing the growth of your hair. Vitamin E helps to thicken your hair to complement its growth. You don’t want to have a long but scanty hair now, do you?:)

Shea butter also contains fatty acids like linoleic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, and palmitic acid. These are all responsible for making sure your hair is long, thick and healthy. Now, shea butter has a positive result for being tested for safety. However, people that are allergic to nuts may want to consult with their doctors first before using them, just to make sure they do not have any negative reactions to this wonderful product.
